1. Ask your child about the books that he or she borrows. Read the books to him or her or listen to him or her read the books to you. Search our online catalog for books that may be of interest to him or her, and request books by emailing Mrs. Player or sending in a note on library day.
2. Ask your child about what he or she is learning during library class. Like or comment on the library assignments that are posted to Seesaw, and engage your child in conversation about what literacy topic or ed tech skill he or she learned.
3. Volunteer your time during library class and/or attend and support library initiatives. Participate in our Birthday Book Club, Book Fairs and Community Story Time events. Donate your unwanted/outgrown children's books to our Little Free Library or March is Reading Month book drive.
4. Spread the word on how important school libraries ran by a certified library media specialist are. Research how school libraries impact student learning and increase reading achievement. Write lawmakers urging them to support school libraries with certified library media specialists for all Michigan public schools.
